Loved this book! From the recognisable celeb drops (like Nigella and Kylie, who are described in such fabulous ways!) to the characters, and not just Troy and Julian, but the secondary characters too, like the gorgeous, straight-to-the-point flatmate, the f*** buddy and the ‘mum’ type who you just adore!
I had to warm to the man whore that is Julian, but his character arc is so believable that you can forgive and understand his ‘old ways’. Troy is just fabulous, gorgeous, sensitive to a fault and needs Julian to sort him out (just as much as Julian needs him) and make him comfortable in his own skin.
I loved how Troy’s diary (Dear Dave!) gave a crucial insight into his backstory (how can he be the age he is and not have realised sooner that what was missing in his life was a man, not a woman!) as well as his current state of mind as he goes through this realisation and learns to live his life and be happy.
It’s a story about having your eyes opened and being 100% honest with yourself and what you want, and recognising that your fears can only hold you back.
